One word to describe the Simpson House Inn: EXCEPTIONAL!!!

I photographed a wedding weekend here in August 2024, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish.

When I arrived on Thursday, Haley (the property manager and event extraordinaire) greeted me warmly, offered me snacks and beverages, and gave me a tour of the beautiful property. The service at this gorgeous inn is top-tier. They will take care of all your needs and make you feel right at home! The couple chose to rent out this property to stay alongside their wedding party; it was also the venue for their rehearsal dinner and wedding ceremony/cocktail hour. There is so much versatility in the grounds that are meticulously well-kept.

On Friday, the Simpson House team hosted the rehearsal dinner for the couple. The food was spectacular, and the atmosphere couldn't have been more beautiful. Lighting at this venue gives you that perfect golden hour glow which is just stunning for pictures. As the sun set, guests gathered on the lawn to enjoy an outdoor movie night complete with snacks underneath the twinkle lights.

Saturday of the wedding weekend arrived, and everything went so smoothly. All the little nooks and crannies and greenery offered us incredible backdrops for pictures and a calm atmosphere for the couple to prepare for their wedding day. After ceremony, guests enjoyed oysters and champagne before transitioning to another venue for reception.

One note about this venue, it is centrally located and allows you to walk anywhere in downtown Santa Barbara. SUCH a wonderful feature of this place!!

I cannot say enough good things about Simpson House and Haley. If you are looking to host a wedding or simply stay at a place that feels like home away from home, this destination is perfect for you. I already can't wait to be back for more events and hopefully also to relax on a little vacation!

My husband and I just returned from a three night stay at the Simpson House. We stayed in the Hayloft and found it to be perfect for us. The room is a nice size with a comfortable king size bed, sofa and flat screen TV. The bathroom has a tiled shower and plenty of countertop space (a must for me). There is a separate closet that opens to a beverage center. In addition to the coffee maker and refrigerator there is also a faucet that delivers filtered water. That was an unexpected amenity that I truly appreciated.||The grounds are beautiful and there is no reason to ever leave. Between the morning breakfast, the afternoon scones, the evening hors d’oeuvres and the nightly cookies, neither my husband nor I felt the need to go out to eat. We did make a few excursions down State Street, but other than that we mainly relaxed and hung around the grounds.||I could go on, but other reviewers have pretty much covered the good food, the hospitality and the helpful staff. I definitely recommend Simpson Inn and hope to visit again.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a short stay-cation and absolutely loved it. The staff was very nice and the room we stayed in had a very unique and home-y feeling to it. The breakfast served in the morning was delicious and we also enjoyed the wine and snacks served at night. Overall it was a great experience and I'd recommend to anyone looking for an intimate stay.

I would also like to add that I accidently left my favorite watch in the room. We drove home unknowingly and I called the house when I realized. I live hours away so they offered to mail the watch to me directly. They kept in touch with me every step of the way and I felt very well accommodated.

Great hotel and venue. The grounds are beautiful and the service was great. The history and age of the rooms are very nice but it comes with uncomfortable mattresses. My only complaint about our stay here was the deflated balloons for pillows and the old mattresses

My husband and I got married at the Inn last weekend. It was the best wedding weekend we could've asked for. The Inn is located in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara, but you would never know it when you're at the property. It feels like you're in a Hallmark movie the moment you enter the property. When you walk into your room classical music is playing and there are personalized touches to welcome you.| |We worked with the general manager, Haley, for over a year while planning our wedding. She and all the staff are absolutely amazing. They're kind and accommodating. The breakfast and snacks they offer are delicious. I especially loved the chocolate chip cookies they put out in the evening. ||Our immediate families stayed at the Inn as well and were constantly complimenting the staff, grounds, and it's convenient walking distance to downtown. It was the perfect spot to enjoy our wedding weekend with our family. We can't wait to come back!
