Highly recommend San Martino. This was our 3rd visit and have always had a very warm welcome from Ben and Linda. We stayed in the Anna Apartment which is perfect for two couples with two ensuite bedrooms. Life doesn't' get much better than having breakfast at the front of the apartment looking over the valley at the beautiful hilltop town of Montone. The apartment is comfortable with good size beds, great showers, nice sitting area and fully equipped small kitchen. It is nicely situated for local sightseeing and after a busy day it was nice to come back and relax by the swimming pool which also has great views over the countryside.|We will definitely return!

We have just returned from two weeks in Apartment Anna, which was well equipped, comfortable and with the most beautiful view of the hilltop village of Montone. It is calming and quiet with a beautiful pool with yet more stunning views over the valley imbetween the olive grove and the vineyard. It was hard to pull ourselves away to explore the pretty towns and villages of Umbria but there is so much to see and do. Ben and Linda are generous hosts. They have thought of everything, give you a great welcome pack and want to make sure you have everything you need for a great holiday. We definitively did.

This is our third trip to San Martino and we cannot fault it; it has stunning views of Montone from the terrace and great views from the pool. It is an oasis of calm and peacefulness. The owners are extremely helpful but not intrusive. Being high up there is a nice breeze in the evening which keeps the apartments relatively cool. You can live off the generous welcome pack for a few days if you needed to. A great place to explore or just to unwind. We find it hard to fault this place that is why we return year on year.

We were recommended San Martino by a couple of friends who had stayed there several times a few years back, so we knew we were on to a winner. It didn’t take long after arriving and dragging our bags from the rental car to the beautifully decorated apartment before we realised that already this holiday was more than meeting our expectations.||||Unfortunately for the local farmers, the weather was very kind to us, and on the days we were not busy visiting local historic towns such as: Bevanga, Gubbio, Castiglione del Lago, Spello or Assisi, to name just a few, (all within easy driving distance) we could maximise our time in and around the amply sized swimming pool with its lovely scented wall of lavender.||||Linda and Ben were the perfect hosts, sharing their extensive knowledge of the area that they had gained over the years and making us very welcome.||||It may well have been the first time we visited San Martino and indeed Umbria, but it certainly will not be our last!||||Chris and Ellie

We had a wonderful week here, staying in the two bed roomed Anna apartment, which was one of three apartments in the villa. The villa itself was situated in a beautiful , quiet location, on a wooded hillside looking up to the mountain village of Montone. In the surrounding woods we spotted a Golden Oriole (a beautiful bird) on several occasions.The apartment was spotlessly clean on arrival, was furnished in a very attractive style - and was cool, even when the outside temperature reached the high 30s. We much appreciated the food and wine which Linda, the owner, had waiting for us.Linda was the perfect host, a very interesting and charming lady who could not have been more helpful. The sizeable swimming pool, with the walls of lavender on two sides and views across the valley to the hills beyond, really was idyllic.The two other couples who also stayed in the villa and whom we had not previously met also helped to make this a really wonderful holiday.We hope to return in the near future and cannot recommend highly enough.

Had a most wonderful stay at San Martino. Property suited our family of 2A 2C. Accommodation was so tastefully done, pool ideal. So peaceful location. The welcome was fantastic. Cant describe how hospitable the hosts were, Linda a pure lady. Will be back. Montone is a lovely spot, fine restaurants and coffee shops

Wow is all we can say about this little gem! Almost hate to tell others but the Proprieters are so fabulous that we are happy to help continue their business.||||Superb cottage with every amenity! We felt so at home but better. This place is so relaxing, modestly priced and located near the lovely hill towns. And we should say super clean, bottle of wine and food in frig. Washer available. Day treks even into Tuscany are easy and much much less pricey here. We give you the gift of this tip!

We visited this gorgeous place in August 2016 and promised we'd return and we did! We got back last night from another perfect holiday!||My previous review outlines all the amazing reasons why this is one of the best places we've ever stayed and this year was just as good. It's simply divine - if your holiday requirements are peace, quiet, high quality accommodation, exceptional hosts, stunning scenery, easily accessible....then this is it!!||I LOVE LOVE LOVE San Martino and the surrounding areas and I think you will too
