Fabulous experience! My husband, daughter (18) and I just had an amazing weekend at the charming Palazzo Misciattelli. The apartment was not only spacious but beautifully appointed! The views, gardens and shared spaces adding ambiance to the overall experience! We enjoyed professional service that was also familiar in all the good ways! Orvieto and the surrounding area was a wonderful balance to some of the travel stops we've had this trip in larger cities! It all exceeded our expectations. We genuinely felt sad to leave the place, but more importantly, the people we met.

This fall, I had a wonderful opportunity to stay at Palazzo Misciattelli, one of the most magnificent and luxurious locations I have visited in Italy. Conveniently situated in the heart of Orvieto, just steps away from the Duomo, museums, restaurants, and shops yet quiet and private, Palazzo Misciattelli is a true gem. We stayed in a beautifully appointed residence within the Palazzo, where every detail was perfect from the artwork to the bespoke linens that graced the most comfortable beds. Owners Ellen and Arrigo went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable, providing experiences beyond the usual tourist sites (e.g., a visit to their olive grove just before harvest!). The Palazzo has been in their family for many years, so it was fun to hear stories recalled through the artwork, photos, furniture, and the building itself. Our morning breakfast could only be described as “food art”! Many choices of local specialties were beautifully arranged on a large table in an elegant dining room. It was the best breakfast we had in Italy. And, the staff could not have been kinder, more attentive, or more accommodating. Thank you all!! I can’t wait to return!

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at this magical Palazzo during some of our September trip to Italy. Arrigo and Ellen have created the perfect combination of warmth, luxury and hospitality. The obvious attention to detail and genuine care in making your stay the best experience was second to none. We wanted to feel immersed in the 'real' Italy. Staying at Palazzo Misciattelli made that a reality. It was everything we had hoped for and more. Our time spent here was BY FAR the favorite part of our time in Italy. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer.....Oh well, next time!

The finest luxury tourist destination that we’ve ever experienced. Our hosts Ellen and Arrigo were incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Orvieto and its culinary and agricultural traditions, especially olive oil (they make their own); pasta and vino. Nestled in the medieval quarter about a five minute walk from the duomo, the hosts were incredibly gracious with their time, even taking us on a walking tour and a visit to their olive grove. The staff too were gracious and kind. Highly recommend!

Wow! Palazzo Misciatelli is in a class by itself, even better than five star review.
If you are in Italy, this is the only place to stay.
Not only are the accommodations exceptional in every way but it is warm and inviting .
Arrigo and Ellen and their extraordinary staff attend to your every need without hovering.
One can experience Orvieto as a family member at Palazzo Misciatelli.
Best accommodations ever.

We have just returned back to the USA from a whirlwind tour of Italy!( VENICE, FLORENCE ,ROME etc) However we can't stop talking and sharing our pix and experiences in the most magical of all ORVIENTO, UMBRIA (Tuscany) We stayed at Palazzo Misciattelli and were so blessed to see this beautiful mountain top medieval village through the eyes of the proprietor. owners of the palazzo Arrigo and Helen Misciatelli Bernardini. The most wonderful hosts of any place we have stayed at in the world! Arriggo's rich family heritage in the town (1400 years) along with his wife and partner Helen shares his family's redesigned estate with guests from around the world. We were treated like family
and have never felt so welcomed and cared for as we did at Palazzo Misciatelli~ We had planned to take day trips to the surrounding areas (Sienna,etc) and we never left the relaxing care of these vineyard and olive oil owners/ afficionados for our entire stay. We are already planning our next trip back to bring family to share this fairytale experience! Ciao!

What a lovely 4 days we had here! The apartment was spacious and beautifully decorated, Arrigo and Ellen were the most gracious hosts, and Orvieto is full of old world charm. The restaurants they recommended were amazing and Il Duomo (the Cathedral) was an incredible sight to see. Highly recommended!!!
