We came to Cartmel looking for a cooked breakfast and we definitely chose well by going here. We were immediately greeted by the staff and made to feel so welcome and cared for throughout. The food and drinks were amazing, and you could tell by the way the hostess directed her staff and spoke to customers that so much care and dedication goes into this place. Would highly recommend and will definitely return! Thank you so much!

We had a lovely stay here. Beautiful comfy rooms with lovely bathrooms and a perfect location on Cartmel Square. Was a wonderful cosy retreat to go back to after doing the Lakes in a Day 50 mile ultra marathon!! Delicious breakfast too and great service. Thank you so much.

Our room (NO. 5) was beautifully and tastefully presented all to a very high standard. We had a small issue on arrival with our TV, and although Rachel doesn't live on the premises, she arrived within 5/10 minutes and rectified the tuning problem. The fridge was stocked well and prices for the Prosecco and Beer were very reasonable. Excellent location. Rachel and the team are very friendly, helpful and efficient. Would highly recommend.

I entered the coffee shop today as a heavily pregnant lady while it was pouring it down with rain outside - I politely asked the lady behind the counter if I could use the toilet. I was turned away and asked to use the racecourse facilities instead.

A waddle to the racecourse in the pouring rain in my condition wasn’t fun however as many will know, pregnancy isn’t very forgiving on the bladder and I had to find a loo!

I found this very unkind given it was off-peak season and very quiet in the village. This was a huge shame as I was going to use the toilet, wait for my husband to park up and meet me inside to purchase a coffee and some food from here. We chose to go elsewhere.

Please remember kindness costs nothing.

the perfect score. a very nice room in a very nice hotel with very nice people. The room was cute and comfortable, the breakfast was very good... with salted butter without asking, a dream i'm not used to. If you go to Cartmel this is the place where you need to stay for the night

Great central location, rooms very nice, breakfast also good. Only issue is that you can’t leave any bags, which was only a problem for us as we got the train and it just meant we couldn’t go for a walk on the Sunday without taking our small suitcases with us.

We were greeted warmly by very helpful staff, the room was spacious, light and airy with views over the square and the breakfast was tremendous. What more can anyone ask for!

This was our second stay at Cartmel Square and we will definitely be returning for more. The rooms are large, comfortable, tastefully furnished, very comfortable and all have views out over the square. Rachel and her team are so very helpful and extremely welcoming. The breakfasts are superb as is the coffee shop - we always call in when in the area.
The location is great for exploring and enjoying the South Lakes area and its such a beautiful village for a relaxing stay if you are feeling less energetic.
Whether its for a stay or just a coffee stop I can highly recommend Cartmel Square.
