Seeing how many negative reviews there are (wrong expecations I suppose), I would like to share my experience which was impeccable.
I reserved a car for Saturday on a Thursday, immediately received an email confirmation with the necessary details.

Everything went perfectly well and I was in and out on a Saturday morning within less than 20 minutes. I was even asked how many passengers/suitcases I was going to transport and given the larger option vehicle so as to be able to fit all passengers and luggage. The price was exactly as communicated in my confirmation email.

Returning the car at LAX was just as easy, and a matter of leaving the keys in the car and waiting just a few minutes for someone telling I was all set -- the shuttle bus was already waiting and brought me to my terminal within 10 minutes.

This was one of the worst car rental experiences that I have ever had. I scheduled 1 month in advance for May 9th and when I arrived, I had to wait an additional 40 minutes before receiving the car. The person working there (didn’t get his name, but he said he was the only employee working then) was rude to both me and the couple in front of me, saying things like “I’m the one with the car” and “if I have to redo this, I’m going to put you on the back of the waitlist”. I was also charged an extra $35 for an “upgrade” because they didn’t have my car class available and they charged the couple in front of me a similar upgrade fee.

The car itself didn’t appear to be cleaned that well inside - I found paper trash behind the passenger seat and in the glove box. There was also a maintenance alert that went off the same day for low windshield wiper fluid.

Super disappointed by the lack of professionalism. I tried calling the location to file a complaint, but no one picked up or returned my call.

They don’t even worth a point.
Two Claims
1. The staff at the JW Marriott LA told me last Friday that the car has full tank (a lie) and rent the car with full tank. I found out 1 hour later that it is not, so I took a picture of the fuel status and returned it with full tank. But, when I returned on Saturday, the same staff told me, it is my responsibility to check fuel status and return it the same amount as it was. As they changed what they say, I really have to get a cash back.

2. I paid $324.00, $124 of car payment and $200 of deposit. Instead of GIVING me $200 back, they instead GOT $200 MORE FROM ME!! So, Hertz have to give me $400 back.

- As there is no slot to upload pictures and videos, I wrote the situation as concrete as possible.

Would’ve given even less than this if possible. They should just close this location for the betterment of both people and themselves. They never have the car you book, and then force you to take a higher tier car and pay the price difference. The cars themselves are not clean enough for driving. I’ve had a case when the car didn’t had a drop oil in it. When you try to reach their corporate offices, the wait times of 30 minutes just for them to tell you they can’t do anything is just insane. In short, it would be better for everyone if this location is just closed.

Very poor experience with this location and hw Hertz has handled it as a whole. The Hertz desk employee at JW Marriott advised that I can return the car at the valet parking office downstairs since their desk wont be open at 6 am when I had to drop it off. I did exactly that, however due to their poor communication, they didn't record the return. I called Hertz a week later, because I saw that they were still charging my credit card a week after the return. They then recorded my return as the date I called and charge me for one week extra even though I returned it on time and it was their fault that it wasn't it was not recorded due to poor communication. Still dealing with Hertz to get my refund for the week, their customer service hasn't helped much either.

We reserved a car in advance and when we showed up, the man at the desk said that he had no cars available. There was no call, email, or any form of communication beforehand.

The agent said he had no cars available but when the next customer came, he told him that he could upgrade to a SUV if he paid the difference.

We were stuck for 3 hours because none of the car rental places near this location (except Enterprise) had availability and the agent could not cancel our reservation although they had no inventory. On the bright side, we found a last minute Turo rental at a good price and plan to never rent from Hertz again.

Terrible experience at this location. Reserved a car and was told I owed a small charge of $20 from a previous rental. while paying the fee the car was given to another location. They gave me a downgraded car that had Zero fuel and told me I could return the car empty at LAX. well I woke up to a $145 fuel charge. no one answer the phone at this location.
