Stayed at La Serena on a sewing holiday run by Steph and Sue Hazell in April 2017 and had the most fabulous time! Steph and Sue transported us around to some amazing fabric and haberdashery shops and warehouses and Derek kept us all extremely well nourished throughout with great cuisine. Located in a beautiful spot and lovely big rooms, very disabled friendly and home from home. A lovely smoking gazebo is provided for guests as well as a pool. Sue Hazell has vast knowledge and experience on everything fabric related and Steph is a great dressmaker and helped me sucesssfully complete my bespoke tuile and from that my very first tunic top with matching bias binding facing. I stayed on an all inclusive course and meals package and I can highly recommend this venue for any group, couples or families that require a base. They hold various retreats here or just B&B.

The cuisine, the wine and our hosts have been wonderful.We have been overwhelmed by the beauty of the landscapes, the fantastic architecture and seeing the Etruscan heritage. I love photography & it is truly a photographers paradise. La Serena is owned & run by 2 great people, Derek a great chef & Steph a very knowledgable guide. La Serena offers spacious & comfortable rooms & lovely pool & surroundings. What is exceptional is the professional and friendly way you are cared for. Steph is an excellent guide taking us on our weeks stay to Assisi, Perugia, & the locals towns & villages with their Umbrian charm. Just relax once you get there & put yourselves in their hands.

Perfect family or friends vacation home. Easy access to everything you would want to visit in the heart of Italy. Hosts are very attentive and understanding of the area. We had two dinners cooked by them which were very well done. As they are English, they are able to help fellow English speakers learn the local "ropes" with no problems. We had two fantastic wine tours set up by Steph that were unique and special. Would recommend to anyone. Relax, sightseeing, wine, its all here for very good value!!!

La Serena is the perfect spot for a great holiday. It has well appointed bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms, with a balcony. The rural setting allows for relax and rest during a busy holiday. The pool was a great spot to enjoy time with our family. The open windows at night offered a cool breeze while sleeping.

Very pleasant stay with our family during the heat of august! Beautiful place.
Mosquitos were the only downside of this stay. They attack and deprive the enjoyment of spending time outdoors.

What an amazing escape from the world and all its problems! Umbria in the spring, with its wooded hills and lush green valleys, and with its mediaeval hill towns and cities, was the perfect background to our getaway. Derek and Stephanie looked after us like one of their own. Nothing was too much trouble. Derek's skills in the kitchen were equally matched by Stephanie's expertise in sewing. She is everything you could wish for in a teacher,. Her patience and willingness to explain are backed by a lifetime's knowledge and experience.

If you want to be spoilt or just left to chill out, La Serena is just amazing.||We stayed for a week in September. ||Stephanie collected us from the airport as we did not wish to drive this trip.||Derek cooked amazing meals on the days we ate at La Serena - some lunchtime too.||Rooms all enquire with a guest lounge downstairs off the veranda.||Lots of seating around the venue, so you can be quietly alone or relax by the pool.||We loved it so much, we are going twice this year.
